Housing Programs

Permanent Supportive Housing

Through a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, we provide permanent supportive housing for Wyandotte County citizens who were chronically homeless.  Permanent supportive housing (PSH) is the coupling of a housing subsidy, to offset the cost of the housing, with supportive services in an independent living situation in which the client has tenant rights. PSH has no time limits as long as tenants abide by the terms of their lease.

Kim Wilson Housing's PSH program is called Beacon Homes and provides 39 scattered site affordable housing units in Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas.

Rapid Rehousing

Through a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, we provide rapid rehousing (RRH) to homeless households. Rapid re-housing rapidly connects families and individuals experiencing homelessness to permanent housing through a time-limited financial assistance and targeted supportive services. Kim Wilson Housing's RRH program is called Wyandot Rental Assistance Program (WyRAP) and helps individuals and families experiencing homelessness to find housing, receive move-in and rent assistance, and case management services.

Referrals for permanent supportive housing and rapid rehousing programs must come through the Greater Kansas City Coordinated Entry System. For more information on the Coordinated Entry System, please visit Greater Kansas City Coalition to End Homelessness.
